He had grown up raised by different foster parents thur time till he was able to take care of himself in the streets of the ruined capital of Canceron. He knows very little about his family background. Marital Status: Never Married Career: Merchant Marine. At age 17 he got his first job aboard a space freighter. He has worked on all types of commercial ships throughout his career. At the start of the war he was an Engineer’s mate aboard the Sun Blossom, a Virgonese registered passenger liner. When the ship’s FTL drive faltered on it attempt to jump with the rest of the refugee fleet during a Cylon attack. Calvin worked to get the drive back online, his oxygen line was cut before he got the drive working again. He had passed out, and fell off the gangway, injuring is spine. He became paralyzed in his legs. As time passed, and the fleet left the Colonies. He wanted to make himself of use, and became a commentator on a wireless program to enlighten people about who they are, and that they must change in order to be worthy of survival. He became a fleet celebrity, and popular with the people. When the new government was formed, he was hesitant about running for a seat in parliament, as he did not want to give up his wireless program. After the necessity that people not give up their livelihood, only to become part time civic leaders, he was allowed to keep his wireless program which airs four times a week.
